For the last ten years, Muckleshoot and Emerald Downs have hosted the most anticipated Indian Relay invitational in the country: the Muckleshoot Gold Cup Indian Relay. It brings teams together from Western States and Canada for a action-packed, one-of-kind event celebrating community, competition, and culture.

This year's event did not disappoint. With thrills, spills, agony, and elation on all three days, the races were a sight to behold.

At the Muckleshoot Gold Cup, each team consists of a rider, four horses, muggers (who catch the horse), and holders (who calm the fresh mounts in designated boxes). The riders complete two full circuits around the one-mile oval, riding bareback and leaping from one horse to the next at breakneck speeds.
