Christine Smith with children, 1917, Muckleshoot Reservation. Christine was born about 1835 and was married and had one child at the time of the Treaty War of 1855-56. Her husband "Aeneas" participated in the hostilities and was appointed chief of the Muckleshoot’s at the same time as Whatcom. Christine was a step-daughter of Kanasket, the war chief of the Green River Tribe.
